are cold-blooded vertebrates (Vertebrates have backbones). They have dry skin covered with scales or bony plates and usually lay soft-shelled eggs.

                - Ectothermic (Cold-blooded) 
                - Body temperature is determined by their surrounding environment.
                - Air breathing
                - Tough water proof skin designed to retain moisture
